Guttering & Fascia

Well not alot has happened in the last 2 weeks even though we had mainly good weather for the majority of the time. Oh well we knew that it would slow down eventually as we have had an excellent run so far. If only they could finish the roof then rain wouldnt be as much of a problem.

They have put up the guttering and fascia for the top floor - now we just await the roof tiles!

Bricking Finished!

We met our SS on site today and had our first face to face meeting where we went through a few things that we were uncertain about and needed clarification on, plus we walked around the place and discussed what was happening next. According to him the plan is for the guttering and fascia to go up on Tuesday and if the roof tiles arrive in time they will start them on Tuesday as well! They are aiming to have the main roof done by the end of next week followed by the lower roof and cladding by the week after!!!

All we can say is keep it up!

Well we had our tile appointment first thing this morning and I must admit it was a little easier than we expected. I am guessing that was mainly due to our assistant/guide who was really good at being able to understand what we were after and she made some excellent suggestions whilst managing to remain within the standard range for the most part which was fantastic!

We did make some upgrades, such as the smart (hidden) waste instead of the standard ones among a couple of other things and now we have to just wait for the quote to find out how much pain we will be in for these little indulgences!

The one thing that made us laugh afterwords was the fact that we went there with a couple of tiles that we were certain to pick - however after we left we realised that we ended up selection none of them!

More Brickwork Done and Scaffolding!

We popped past the block early on Saturday morning to see what work had been done and we were amazed to find around 10 guys working on our place! A couple were working on the bricks while the rest were busily starting on the scaffolding! Rather than interrupt them we left and came back later in the day and found that they had completed the scaffolding and more of the brickwork!

Appears our door frames for the front, upstairs balcony and the laundry have arrived as well.

Well the brickies have started today as planned!!! Went past just after lunch and they have moved piles of bricks into their respective places and had started on one wall....cannot wait to go past next and see just how much has been done since they started!

The rain even managed to stay away which is fantastic...hopefully the same can be said for the next two days - well at least during working hours anyway :)

Windows Delivered

Just a quick update to say that they have ticked off the first thing from the list of to do's - our windows have been delivered and should be fitted today. We will pop out over the weekend and take some photos.

Hopefully the bricking starts on Tues/Wed as planned!

Now updated to include some Pics of the windows that were fitted on Friday - also there was some work done on the internal plumbing which was a nice surprise.

Now the only issue is the window shown below which is located above the kitchen bench/oven which is not the one that we were made to believe would be fitted. We were expecting the same window as the display home as we were told on numerous occaisions that the window was standard and that is what we would get....will be calling the SS first thing Tuesday to try and get it sorted out.

Roof Up!

I had one of my appointments cancel today so with a couple of hours to kill I drove out to the block and found the guys nearly done with our frame!! Plus while I was sitting there admiring their work our SS gave me a call for our weekly catch up and he informed me that the windows would be going in tomorrow and then our bricks are due to be delivered on Tuesday. Plus he said that if they deliver them early enough the brickies will start working on Tuesday otherwise they will begin on Wednesday!!!

It seems that they are really making up for the couple of delays that we had early and now we are running along all guns blazing - GO WISDOM!!!!
